Some cheerleaders also find that the baton handle is less fatiguing on their fingers, as they can change their grip throughout a competition without losing control of the pom.
Are large pom poms better than small ones?
Typically, pom strand length is determined by age. Younger cheerleaders find it easier to control four or five-inch poms, while youth and teen teams do best with five or six-inch poms. Adult teams usually carry seven to eight-inch poms. However, you will find some longer styles that offer strands up to 12” in length.
