The Purpose
While cheerleading isn't all about cheering, it's still the biggest aspect. Cheerleading's roots lie in cheers and chants on the sidelines, encouraging the crowd's spirits, and boosting the morale of football and other sports players.

When to (Not) Use
It sounds crazy at first. When, as a cheerleader, should you not cheer? Is there ever a time when cheering as a cheerleader is inappropriate? Actually, yes. It's just as important to know when to not cheer as it is to know when to cheer, especially when you're on the sidelines of a sports game.

Choreography
You can add some serious energy to your performance with choreography. Even adding a few simple moves to your cheers can boost the audience's spirit. By combining fun moves with traditional cheers at games can impress the crowd and encourages them to cheer, shout and get up and move with you. Add a few pom pom shakes and you'll rock the stadium!

Teaching
There are those who do and those who teach; but cheer coaches and captains do both! Your squad is only as good as your cheers so it's important to take the time to create creative and fun ones that you can recycle for another season. By giving yourself enough time to teach cheers and chants for games and pep rallies, your squad will perform as great as your team uniforms look!

Learning
Cheering. Sounds simple, right? Not so fast! Like teaching a cheer, learning new cheers isn't as simple as it sounds. While there are a few simple cheers that only require a few steps and words, many are more complicated and involve intricate choreography that every cheerleader must perform in unison.
